Guidelines for travelling to Guyana

The testing requirements for entering Guyana are as follows:

  • A negative PCR or ANTIGEN COVID19 test
  • The test must be taken within 72hrs
  • The PCR or ANTIGEN test should not exceed 7days
  • A second test is needed for test, taken beyond 72hrs
  • Passengers must bear the cost for the second test
  • Children, 2years and over must present a negative PCR or ANTIGEN test

The following test are not acceptable for entry into Guyana:

  • Antibody test
  • Rapid PCR
  • Rapid test using Saliva Sample
  • Home test Kits

COVID19 recovered persons must adhere to the following:

  • Must present a certificate of clearance from a licensed medical practitioner
  • A recent PCR or ANTIGEN test, taken within 7 days

The following shall apply for testing upon entry into Guyana:

  • A valid local telephone number verifiable by Port Health.
  • All persons must remain in quarantine until they receive their results.
  • A passenger testing positive for COVID-19 shall comply with Ministry of Health’s measures for isolation.

Guyana’s vaccination policy for entry is as follows:

  • Passengers, 12 years and over, must show proof of being “FULLY” vaccinated
  • Their names, name of vaccine, date vaccine was given and batch# from an accredited health facility must be clearly visible
  • Travelers with mixed vaccination regimen are considered vaccinated.

The approved COVID 19 vaccines are as follows:

  1. Oxford-Astra Zeneca – ChAdOx1 vaccine
  2. Sputnik V – Gam Covid Vac (1&2)
  3. Sinopharm – Vero cell BIBP
  4. Sinovac – Corona Vac
  5. Pfizer-BioNTec Covid19-BNT162b2
  6. Moderna – mRNA-1273 vaccine
  7. Johnson & Johnson – Jansen COVID-19 Ad26CoV2.S Vaccine

Vaccination exemptions shall be applicable for the following reason:

  • Passengers, who present a “Letter of Exemption” from a licensed medical practitioner.

A person is “ONLY” considered fully Vaccinated, 14 days after receiving:

  • an approved single dose vaccine
  • the second dose of an approved two dose vaccine
  • any mix and match combination of approved vaccines, administered at least seventeen (17) days apart.

Passengers are advised to pay keen attention to the following:

  • The country-specific COVID19 testing requirements of their “destination” country
  • If he/she qualifies for the vaccination exemption guidelines
  • The category of persons, who would be required to provide proof of being “FULLY” vaccinated
  • Passengers must be aware of the quarantine guidelines per country
